Looking for a few good landlords...

The Preservation Compact, a collaborative effort to preserve and expand the number of affordable housing units in Cook County, is looking for landlords to participate in their market survey. From their announcement:

If you:

  • Own and/or operate at least 4 or 5 buildings in Chicago and/or suburban Cook CountyAND
  • Own no more than 300 unitsAND
  • Own some units that are affordable, with rents of $750-$900/month or less

Then, we need your help to gather information about the barriers to business, obstacles, and challenges faced by owners of market rate affordable housing. Please feel free to forward this email to others who may be interested in helping with this research.

Please contact Judy Levey, or call 773-549-2655 for more information by Monday, February 2, 2009.

If you fit the bill, MoveSmart.org strongly encourages you to get in touch. The Compact predicts that there will be a net loss of 75,000 units of affordable housing in Cook County by 2020 without intervention. Their mission is to ensure that doesn't happen. Lend them a hand, will ya?
