Apply for Rental Housing Support Program for Cook County by 10/10/08

The Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County, Inc. has announced that it will be distributing and accepting Pre-Applications for its Rental Housing Support Program beginning Monday, October 6th and ending Friday, October 10th. The pre-application must be post marked by Friday, October 10th.

NOTE: The Pre-application cannot be hand delivered.

Pre-applications get a person or household on the into a lottery pool, of which 1,000 will be chosen to be on the waiting list for 31 spots on the Rental Housing Support Program

Pre-applications will be available starting Monday, October 6th, at www.cedaorg.net, at Suburban Cook County Public Libraries, or at any CEDA locations listed here. Pre-application will not be mailed out on request.

To be eligible for the Rental Housing Support Program the household applying must have a gross income of less no more than 30% of the area median income for the area.

8 :: $29,850

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Every family member who is expecting to live in the household that is receiving assistance must provide proof of eligibility.

The Rental Housing Support Program WILL ONLY COVER RENT. It will not cover security deposits, energy assistance, emergency rental assistance, or other housing costs.
