We are incredibly pleased to announce that as of October 5th, 2008 the IRS determined that we are "exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code." Hooray!

Special thanks to go MoveSmart.org board member Jay Readey, who helped navigate us through the tricky waters of tax exemption, and the Community Economic Development Law Project, who connected us to Jay in the first place. After our initial application, the IRS had only two questions for MoveSmart.org; our approval came just 2 weeks after we submitted those answers.
